Cosy weekend getaway
Imagine the sound of rustling leaves and the smell of campfire and wood. Birds that land on a branch right in front of the window and a squirrel that finds its way up that same tree. A weekend in the cosy cabins of Nutchel brings you back to a simpler way of life for a while.
We wake up in a warm bed, but cold cabin. With the first need to light the stove and drink a hot cup of tea. We mastered lighting a fire, but it still takes a while before the cabin is properly heated up. Under a woolen blanket we stare into the fire until the room feels warm enough to make breakfast. At the same time the first rays of the sun are squeaking through the leaves. We are lucky with the location of our cabin, the warmth of the sun is a welcome guest. As well as a hot breakfast. We add eggs, rice milk, apples and raisins to our home prepared pancake flour mix. A combination of 150 grams of buckwheat flour, 100 grams of wheat flour, a pinch of salt, 5 grams of baking powder and a lot of cinnamon. An easy way to make the most delicious breakfast in no time. We keep the pancakes warm on the stove, while we eat them with almond paste and maple syrup.
We spend the weekend reading and walking. We talk a lot, sometimes suddenly stopping and staring out the window for a while. Or rekindle the fire with a new log. In the meantime, enjoying the tranquility that simplicity can bring.
